Learning Support Assistant - Alternative Provision

Pay: £90-£110 per day (depending on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive Alternative Provision setting in Wellingborough. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to students who require additional support, both academically and emotionally.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant within the Alternative Provision department, you'll be working with students aged 11-16 who may have social, emotional, or behavioural needs (SEMH) or other special educational needs (SEN). You'll support them in small group or one-to-one sessions, helping to build confidence, promote positive behaviour, and re-engage them with learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing classroom and pastoral support under the direction of the class teacher or SENCO
Supporting students with individual learning plans and behaviour strategies
Encouraging engagement, independence, and progress
Assisting with the delivery of tailored interventions and activities
Promoting a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Empathetic, patient, and adaptable
Confident in building positive relationships with young people
Experienced in supporting students with SEMH, ASD, or other additional needs (desired but not essential)
A strong communicator who can work effectively as part of a team
Resilient and able to remain calm under pressure
Requirements
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
Relevant experience in education, youth work, or a similar setting
