Learning Support Assistant – Make a Difference in Young Lives
The school is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated team within an Alternative Provision setting on the Wirral. This is a full-time, term-time only position with the potential to become permanent.
Role Overview
The Learning Support Assistant will work closely with secondary-aged students who experience social, emotional, and mental health challenges. The role involves providing tailored support to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver one-to-one and small group support for students with ADHD and SEMH needs.
Assist in managing and positively de-escalating challenging behaviour.
Build strong, trusting relationships to foster engagement and progress.
Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment.
Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to promote student well-being.
Candidate Profile
Proven experience supporting children with ADHD, SEMH needs, or challenging behaviour is essential.
Demonstrates patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
Possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
Creative and adaptable in engaging learners and supporting their development.
Calm, compassionate, and able to remain composed under pressure.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
