Learning Support Assistant
Secondary SEN School, Havant
ASAP start - Full-time contract - Temp to Perm

Academics are recruiting on behalf of a secondary SEN School in Emsworth, Havant who are seeking a passionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join them on a full-time, term-time contract. This is a temp to perm contract so only suitable for someone looking for a permanent position.

The school provides secondary education for pupils with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) for Special Educational Needs which fall within the moderate learning difficulties range, plus some with more severe learning difficulties. This includes pupils with Speech and Language difficulties and, Social Communication Difficulties and Autism so they are looking for someone with experience of supporting young people with SEN, ideally within an SEN setting.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will be required to support within the classroom, supporting pupils individually or in groups across the curriculum together with some playground supervision duties. You will be working in a rewarding environment and be a part of a supportive team with opportunities for progression and development.

The working hours are Monday-Friday, 8.45am - 3pm.
On a long term/permanent contract you would be required to attend weekly after-school staff training on a Wednesday working a total of 30 hours per week.

Whilst on a supply contract you will be paid a daily rate of £90. If you are taken onto a permanent Learning Support Assistant contract with the school, the starting salary is £17,915.40 (FTE £25,186.08).
