About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate, resilient, and proactive Learning Support Assistants to work in specialist settings supporting pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
ADHD
Speech, Language & Communication Needs
Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
Physical disabilities and sensory impairments
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Non-verbal or pre-verbal pupils using PECS, Makaton or AAC
You will play a key role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of learners, often on a 1:1 or small group basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementing tailored learning strategies and EHCP targets
Supporting personal care needs where required (training provided)
Assisting with sensory activities, therapies, and structured routines
Encouraging independence and positive behaviour
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and external agencies
Who We're Looking For:
Previous experience in SEN, care, youth work, or education (desirable but not essential)
Calm, empathetic and adaptable approach
Understanding of safeguarding and willingness to undertake training
Enthusiasm for making a difference in the lives of vulnerable learners
