Hiring Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School

Your role as a Learning Support Assistant:
Support the class teacher with preparing, organising, and clearing away lesson resources
Work closely with pupils during classroom activities, especially practical tasks
Deliver highly nurturing and therapeutic support for students with needs including: Autism Spectrum Condition, Communication and sensory difficulties, Specific and moderate learning difficulties, Social, emotional and mental health needs
Help pupils develop core skills in communication, reading, and personal development
Teach within small groups and provide individualised attention to meet each student's needs
Work collaboratively with subject specialist teachers and SEN professionals
Use approaches such as Makaton, Communication in Print, Attention Autism, and TEACCH

Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential.
