Job Description

Learning Support Assistant – Early Years Foundation Stage – Year R September 2025. School based in Alton. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm (to include Lunchtime Supervisor duties). £13:75 an hour. We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who: Has a passion for working with children, and helping them improve in character through developing their resilience and mindset as well as in qualification Is flexible, energetic, resilient and committed to working with all children, including those who may need higher levels of support in order to learn Has the creativity to design activities for the year group to encourage and engage children Ideally has knowledge of phonics, although training can be provided Knows and is interested in how children learn Knows the importance of keeping children safe Is a team player, able to inspire and work in partnership with staff, parents and pupils The schools Learning Support Assistants work in close partnership with class teachers and Inclusion Leader (SENDCo) to promote learning for all children. Some experience of working on intervention programmes with individuals and small groups of children would be of benefit but not essential. Applicants should have: Previous experience of working or volunteering in a school or nursery setting with the knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools English and Maths to GCSE Grade C Teaching Personnel Benefits: Full pension scheme and contributions. £50 referral bonus scheme.
