Hours: Full-time (08:30-15:00, Term-time only)
Start date: ASAPAcademics are working with a wonderful specialist school in Abingdon that support children and young people aged 2-19 with complex learning needs. This wonderful school are looking for a bubbly learning support assistant to join their incredible team on a full-time basis, ASAP. This school prides itself in offering a tailored and specialized education to meet the individual needs of each student. A learning support assistant would play a vital role in supporting the education and development of the students.
The day-to-day role of a Learning Support Assistant:
Supporting the personal, social and educational development of the students
Promoting inclusion and helping students to feel valued
Encouraging independence and confidence both socially and academically
Monitoring progress and reporting back to a wider team in order to provide high-quality care
Emotionally supporting the students and helping them to regulate their emotionsYou would be a great learning support assistant if you:
Have excellent communication skills and can work both independently and collaboratively in a team
Have at least a grade C/ Level 4 GCSE in Maths and English
Can remain calm, empathetic and patient in challenging situations
Has previous experience working with children (Desired but not essential)
Is passionate about working with children with special educational needsThe job of a learning support assistant is never done.
