We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming school community in the Withington/Didsbury area. About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will play a key role in supporting the academic and emotional development of pupils, working closely with class teachers and other school staff. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Assisting with the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans (IEPs/IBPs).
Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Supporting pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
Encouraging pupil engagement through creative and differentiated activities.
Liaising with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals as required.
About You:
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
✅ Experience in a school setting – ideally within a classroom support role such as a Teaching Assistant or LSA.
✅ A genuine interest in education and child development.
✅ Confident in supporting primary or secondary-aged pupils.
✅ Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to learning and behaviour support.
✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements:
Applicants must either hold or be willing to apply for a fully enhanced child workforce DBS that is registered on the update service.
Right to work in the UK is essential.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification) are beneficial but not mandatory if experience is strong.
