About the role – Learning Support Assistant
I am working this mainstream secondary school based in Newham who are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join them in the upcoming academic year. The school are looking for an individual who can work under the guidance of class teachers and senior staff to support students who require additional support to enable access to learning. The successful candidate must be aware and up to date with current policies and procedures relating to child safeguarding and safety. As a Learning support assistant, you will be required to supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.

This oversubscribed, good mainstream secondary school based in the heart of Newham cater to students between the ages 11 and 16 with a SLCN and ASD unit in place to support students with SEN needs. The school have a reputation for looking after staff where a number of schemes in place to support a better work life balance, the school support each member of staff with a lower than average teaching loads where each teacher is treated as a specialist therefore isn’t required to teach cover lessons outside of their subject specialisms. Each teacher is given efficient time to do their job properly including co-planning sessions throughout the week to make planning and marking more time efficient allowing teacher to focus on other aspects on teaching and learning.
