Job Title: SEN Behaviour Support Assistant

Salary: £85 - £135 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lewisham, currently seeking an experienced SEN Behaviour Support Assistant to join their specialist behavioural unit.
This is a full-time, long-term position supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2 who require targeted behavioural and emotional support in a dedicated provision within the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with significant behavioural needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
Implement behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques
Provide structure, consistency, and emotional regulation support
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals
Promote inclusion and help pupils develop self-confidence and positive peer relationships
Follow Positive Handling protocols where appropriate to ensure safety for allEssential Requirements:
Experience working with children with behavioural and SEN needs
In-date Positive Handling (Team Teach or equivalent) training is essential
Resilient, calm, and compassionate approach
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
Able to commit to full-time, term-time hours
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Veritas)What Veritas Offers:
