Learning Support Assistant
Location: Lambeth
Salary: £13.10 per hour
Job Type: Temporary, Term Time Only, 35 hours per week, 36 weeks

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with curriculum teams and support staff to ensure learners with special educational needs receive the care, guidance, and resources they need to succeed both academically and personally.
Job duties include:
* Supporting learners to access study programmes and college services
* Promoting independent learning, self-advocacy and confidence-building
* Assisting with personal care and mobility needs where required
* Monitoring progress and contributing to individual support plans
* Encouraging learner engagement in college life and activities
* Ensuring assistive technologies and specialist equipment are in place and functioning
* Collaborating with teachers, support managers, and external stakeholders
* Acting as a trained First Aider within the college
What we’re looking for:
* Experience working with SEN learners in secondary or further education settings
* Understanding of safeguarding, equality, and learner-centred support
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required
* Minimum Level 2 in English and Maths, or willingness to achieve this
* Willingness to obtain a First Aid certificate if not already held
* Experience or openness to providing personal care and mobility assistance
* Signing skills (Makaton, BSL or Sign-a-Long) would be an advantage, but not essential
