Learning Support Assistant - Full-Time - Long-Term - September Start - St. Helens
Are you an experienced or aspiring Learning Support Assistant (LSA) looking for a rewarding long-term role in a vibrant St. Helens secondary school?
Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school in St. Helens to recruit a full-time LSA starting in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team and make a real difference in the lives of young learners.
Our client school is a large 11-18 mixed comprehensive with over 1800 students on roll. Our client school values everyone equally, regardless of background or experience. Our clients aim is to ensure that students leave as happy, self-assured and independent individuals with a clear sense of social responsibility and the skills and qualifications to take their next steps confidently.
The Role:
Supporting students aged 11-16 with additional learning needs
Delivering 1:1 support and small group interventions in and out of the classroom
Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other LSAs to implement EHCP strategies
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Assisting with academic progress, social development and pastoral careWhat We're Looking For:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, youth worker, or care worker is highly desirable
Strong understanding of SEN including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive, patient, and empathetic attitude
A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification is advantageous but not essentialWhat Tradewind Offers:
