What You’ll Be Doing:
One-to-one and small group support: Help children with additional needs access learning and work towards their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
In-class support: Assist teaching staff in adapting and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
Encouraging independence: Support pupils in building self-esteem, life skills, and resilience.
Promoting positive behaviour: Implement consistent behaviour strategies to maintain a calm, focused learning environment.
Team collaboration: Work closely with SENCOs, class teachers, and therapists to deliver holistic support.
Monitoring progress: Keep accurate records and contribute to regular progress reviews.
Providing emotional support: Build strong, trusting relationships to help pupils feel secure and confident.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience with young people: Previous experience in a school, youth work, or care setting is essential.
SEN awareness: Experience supporting children with additional needs (such as autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties) is desirable but not essential.
Resilience and flexibility: Able to adapt calmly to changing circumstances and pupil needs.
Team player: Able to collaborate with staff and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
Strong communication: Clear and empathetic when working with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
Willingness to develop: We offer training and CPD to support your professional growth—even if you're new to SEN education.
