Learning Support Assistant – Make a Difference in Braintree

We’re looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work one-to-one with a child with special educational needs (SEN) in a welcoming primary school in the Braintree area. This full-time role could become permanent for the right person—someone kind, patient, and ready to help a young learner grow in confidence and independence.
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting one child closely in class, helping them stay on track, feel included, and build trust
Tailoring learning activities to meet their needs - with the teacher’s guidance
Encouraging their communication and social skills, one positive interaction at a time
Helping create a calm, focused classroom where everyone can thrive
Sharing observations with the teacher and SENCo so the right support’s always in place
What we’re looking for:
Experience working with children (especially those with SEN) is a big plus - but not essential
A patient, caring nature and a natural rapport with children
Someone who’s proactive, adaptable, and a team player
Confident communicator, comfortable working alongside teachers and parents
Bonus if you’ve got a TA qualification (Level 2 or 3), but we welcome all experience
A brilliant sense of humour never hurts either!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
