We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in the Middleton area. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils with a range of needs, including those displaying challenging behaviour. You will play a key role in ensuring every child can access the curriculum and thrive in a safe, supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, including those with behavioural needs.
Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive behaviour strategies.
Support the delivery of tailored learning activities in line with the curriculum.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff.
Monitor and report on student progress and development.
Requirements:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant (TA) in a primary school setting is essential.
Confident and calm when supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
Team Teach or similar behaviour management training.
Experience working with children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
