Learning Support Assistant
Location: Lambeth, London
Salary: £15.55 per hour
Hours: Full - Time
Contract Type: Contract role until July 2026
Enhanced DBS within the last three years required
Our client is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant to provide learner-facing support across a busy and inclusive college setting.
You’ll be working with students who require additional support, helping them access learning and achieve their goals. The role is ideal for someone with experience in education, youth work, or care settings.
You’ll play a vital role in developing learners’ study skills, supporting EHCP outcomes, and promoting independence and personal development.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting learners’ educational and social development
* Encouraging self-advocacy and independent learning
* Assisting with personal care, safety, and well-being
* Identifying barriers to learning and implementing interventions
* Facilitating access to assistive technologies and college services
* Liaising with external agencies and attending relevant meetings
* Contributing to learner assessments and updating support plans
Candidate requirements:
* A good standard of general education
* Enhanced DBS within the last three years required
* Level 2 Maths and English or willingness to achieve
* Experience in multicultural environments and SEN support
* Understanding of safeguarding and discrimination issues
* Strong communication and IT skills
* Team-oriented, flexible, and proactive
* Signing skills (MAKATON/BSL/Sign-a-Long) desirable
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and continuous development
