Learning Support Assistant Location: West London Contract Type: Full-Time (Term-Time Only) Salary: £100 - £120 per day About the Role We're looking for a resilient, proactive, and motivated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist secondary provision supporting students aged 11-19 with Special Education Needs. This is a role where you'll make a real difference every day - guiding young people through challenges, helping them stay on track, and pushing them to achieve more than they thought possible. You'll be part of a close-knit team, working directly with students who need strong role models, structure, and encouragement to succeed both in and outside the classroom. Key Responsibilities Support students across English, Maths, Science, PSHE, and other core subjects in both one-to-one and small group settings. Reinforce key skills in literacy, numeracy, and personal development. Work side by side with teachers to deliver engaging, practical, and differentiated activities. Use clear strategies to support positive behaviour and manage challenging situations. Encourage inclusion and participation so every student feels part of the team. Provide valuable feedback on student progress to shape future plans and interventions.Requirements Previous experience as an LSA, Teaching Assistant, mentor, coach, or similar role in secondary, SEN, or alternative provisions. Strong subject knowledge in Key Stages 3-5. Experience supporting students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or those at risk of exclusion. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and motivate young people. A calm but firm approach, with resilience and adaptability in high-pressure situations.
