Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) – Salford – Step Teachers 📍 Salford 📅 Starting ASAP 💷 Pay up to £105/day (paid PAYE) ⏰ Monday–Friday, term-time only (8:30am–3:30pm) 📑 Temp-to-Perm About the School A specialist school in Salford is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) to join their committed team supporting children with Autism and complex behaviour needs. The school provides a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment designed to help every child develop communication, independence, and confidence. With a strong focus on individual progress, the team works closely with therapists and behaviour specialists to create positive outcomes for pupils. What You’ll Be Doing • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Autism and behavioural needs. • Help deliver personalised learning programmes tailored to each child’s EHCP. • Support emotional regulation, social interaction, and sensory needs through structured activities. • Implement positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policies. • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to promote pupil wellbeing and progress. • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where pupils can thrive. What You Need • Experience supporting children or young people with Autism and complex behaviours (school or care setting). • A patient, calm, and resilient approach to supporting challenging situations. • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport. • Commitment to promoting inclusion and positive outcomes for every learner.
