If so, a welcoming special school in Basildon is looking for caring and reliable Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join their team.
About the School
This specialist provision supports pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Many pupils have high levels of need and require tailored support with learning, communication, sensory activities, and daily care. The school provides a nurturing, structured and highly supportive environment for both pupils and staff.
The Role
As an LSA, you will:
Work full-time, Monday to Friday 08:30 – 15:30.
Support pupils in small groups or 1:1, focusing on engagement, interaction, and independence.
Provide personal care (toileting, feeding, mobility support) where required.
Support with administering medication following school policies and training.
Use sensory, therapeutic, and creative approaches to aid communication and development.
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
What we’re looking for:
Experience working with children or young people with SLD, PMLD or complex needs.
Confidence in supporting with personal care and administering medication (training provided if needed).
Patience, resilience, and a caring nature.
A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs reach their potential.
Ideal backgrounds include:
SEN Teaching Assistants / LSAs
Care or support workers
Healthcare assistants
Youth workers
Anyone with personal or professional experience supporting individuals with complex needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
