Job Title: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (Year 1)
Location: South Kensington, London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, fixed-term until July 2026 (with the potential to become permanent from September 2026)
About the Role
We are seeking a patient, enthusiastic, and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our Key Stage 1 team in South Kensington. This role involves working closely with a child in Year 1, providing tailored support to ensure they can access learning, build confidence, and make excellent progress.
Key Responsibilities
Provide focused 1:1 support for a child in Year 1, adapting activities to meet their needs
Encourage positive engagement, independence, and resilience in learning
Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised strategies and interventions
Support the child's social and emotional development alongside academic progress
Build strong relationships with the child, their family, and professionals involved in their care
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting children in Key Stage 1, ideally in a 1:1 or SEND support role
Warmth, patience, and a nurturing approach to learning
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A proactive attitude and the ability to follow learning plans
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing
