Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with an outstanding specialist education provider in Stockport to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their experienced and supportive team.

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)

 The Role

As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students access education, develop life skills, and build confidence in a safe and nurturing environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support
Supporting students with communication, personal development, and learning activities
Assisting with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing
Promoting independence and life skills development
Supporting students with personal care where required
Working alongside teachers, therapists, and wider support staff
Encouraging positive engagement and participation in learning
Creating a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
 What We're Looking For

We would love to hear from candidates who have:

Experience within education, healthcare, residential care, support work, or youth work
Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
An understanding of autism, learning disabilities, sensory needs, or complex needs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A positive, proactive, and caring approach
The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a dynamic environment
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
