We are working with a range of diverse and inclusive secondary schools across Newham who are seeking Learning Support Mentors to join their teams this September.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping students with additional needs succeed both in and out of the classroom. You will support individual learners and small groups, working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with a range of academic, emotional, or behavioural needs
Help implement intervention strategies and learning plans
Support teaching staff with classroom management and student engagement
Build positive and supportive relationships with students
Encourage confidence, independence, and resilience in learners
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational or youth setting
A strong understanding of the challenges faced by secondary students
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
A passion for inclusion and student wellbeing
