GSL Education seeks a dynamic and dedicated Lecturer in Sport to join a thriving and progressive department in Gateshead. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver outstanding teaching and support across a range of sport-related qualifications, helping students reach their full potential in both academic and practical performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across various sport-related topics (e.g., anatomy, physiology, coaching, fitness training, nutrition).
Support students in both theory and practical sessions at levels appropriate to the curriculum (e.g., Level 2, Level 3, HND, or degree level).
Assess and monitor student progress, providing clear feedback and guidance.
Contribute to the design and development of the sport curriculum.
Support enrichment and extracurricular sporting activities where appropriate.
Ensure all teaching and assessment complies with awarding body standards.
Engage in staff development and stay updated with industry trends and pedagogical practices.
Job Requirements:
A degree in sport science, physical education, or a related subject.
A recognised teaching qualification e.g., QTS or willingness to work towards one.
Previous experience teaching sport in an FE or HER environment is desirable.
Up-to-date knowledge of the sport and fitness industry.
Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to student development, engagement, and safeguarding.
A current Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
