About the Firm:
Our client is a well-established and highly regarded law firm based in Salford, Manchester. They pride themselves on their professional yet friendly culture, supporting both clients and colleagues alike. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join their finance team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the firm’s financial operations.
The Role:
As the firm’s Legal Cashier, you’ll be responsible for handling all aspects of legal accounting in line with the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs). You’ll work closely with fee earners, management, and external stakeholders to maintain accurate records and provide financial support across the business.
Key Responsibilities:

Processing client and office account transactions in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs)
*
Posting and reconciling daily banking, including receipts, payments, and transfers
*
Managing client ledgers, ensuring funds are allocated correctly and promptly
*
Processing supplier invoices and staff expenses
*
Preparing month-end and year-end reports
*
Reconciling bank accounts and petty cash
*
Supporting with payroll preparation and VAT returns where required
*
Liaising with auditors, partners, and department heads to provide financial information
*
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal policies
About You:
*
Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm is essential
*
Strong working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs)
*
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*
Proficient in legal accounting software
*
Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team
