Job Description

Location: Wokingham - office based - no parking at the office, but free street parking short distance from the office. Contract Type: Temporary - ongoing to help with busy workload in the team Hours: 9-5.00/5.30pm or shorter days could be considered We are seeking a proactive and organised Temporary Legal Secretary to provide administrative and secretarial support to our clients busy Family Law team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in family law or a similar legal environment and be able to step into the role quickly with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities as a Legal Secretary: Providing secretarial support to fee earners within the Family Law team. Audio and copy typing of correspondence, court forms, and legal documents. Preparing and amending documents, bundles, and case files. Managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and arranging client meetings. Handling incoming calls, emails, and correspondence in a professional manner. Maintaining accurate filing systems (electronic and paper-based). Liaising with clients, counsel, courts, and other professionals as required. Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and confidentiality standards.The person: Previous experience as a legal secretary, ideally within family law (divorce, child arrangements, injunctions, etc.). Fast and accurate audio/copy typing skills. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner. Ability to work under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and use initiative. Professional, approachable, and discreet. A team player with a proactive, "can-do" attitude. Adaptable and able to step into a fast-paced environment quickly
