Job Description

GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with a well-established legal practice based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, who specialise in property law with a strong focus on new build developments and the buyers’ perspective. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Legal Secretary to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This position is site-based and is offering a competitive salary of £28,000 – £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Working Hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm Our client operates a busy conveyancing department dedicated to supporting clients purchasing new build homes. They are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary with a strong background in property law to provide efficient and professional secretarial support to fee earners and the wider team. Legal Secretary Main Responsibilities: * Provide full secretarial and administrative support to property fee earners. * Prepare, format, and manage legal documents, correspondence, and contracts. * Manage incoming calls, emails, and client queries in a professional and timely manner. * Liaise with clients, developers, estate agents, and other third parties. * Maintain accurate case files and update case management systems. * Organise diaries, schedule meetings, and assist with file management. * Ensure all work complies with firm procedures, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. * Support the smooth running of the property team with ad hoc administrative tasks. Legal Secretary required skills and experience: * Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within property or conveyancing. * Strong knowledge of property law processes, particularly new build transactions, is highly desirable. * Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a client-focused approach. * Proficiency in MS Office and case management software. * High attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation. * Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Professional, proactive, and reliable team player.
