Role Overview
As an LEV Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effectiveness, safety, and regulatory compliance of LEV systems. You'll lead on-site commissioning, thorough testing, maintenance, and client support, working closely with both the technical team and end users.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct Thorough Examination and Testing (TExT) of LEV systems to ensure they continue to meet design specifications and effectively control exposure.
* Perform LEV system commissioning, including setup, balancing, airflow measurement, filter inspection, and fan performance evaluation
* Assess and troubleshoot system performance issues such as airflow imbalance, duct leaks, filter blockages, and mechanical faults.
* Provide recommendations for system upgrades, relocations, or redesigns to optimize LEV performance and efficiency
* Collaborate with internal manufacturing and design teams to relay feedback from the field and contribute to continuous improvement.
* Maintain accurate testing reports and documentation to support compliance with COSHH and HSE requirements
* Deliver exceptional client-facing service, including explanation of test results, guidance on corrective actions, and support with system operation.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Professional qualification in LEV testing such as BOHS P601 or equivalent; additional certification (e.g., W501, W503) is an advantage.
* Demonstrable expertise in LEV systems, including components like hoods, ducting, fans, filters, and airflow measurement.
* Strong knowledge of COSHH and HSE LEV guidelines, along with a solid grasp of design, performance, and regulatory considerations
* Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, testing, fault detection, and performance tuning of LEV systems.
* Excellent technical and analytical skills, with acute attention to detail.
* Effective communication abilities—capable of translating technical findings for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
