Job Advert: Level 3 Teaching Assistant (BSL Specialist) Location: Sheffield Setting: Post-16 Academy Contract Type: Full-time / Term-time Only Start Date: November 2025 Salary: £105 - £125 per day, depending on experience We are seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join one of our dynamic and inclusive Post-16 Academies based in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a young person’s education by providing dedicated one-to-one support. About the Role: As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a student on a 1:1 basis, offering personalised support to ensure they can access learning and thrive in an inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will be confident in British Sign Language (BSL) and passionate about supporting students with additional communication needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality one-to-one support tailored to the student's educational and communication needs Use BSL fluently to support learning and engagement in the classroom Assist with the development and implementation of individual learning plans Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, and families Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem in the student About You: We are looking for a compassionate, proactive, and reliable Level 3 Teaching Assistant who: Holds a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification Is confident and fluent in British Sign Language (BSL) Has experience working with students with hearing impairments or additional needs Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills Is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment Why Join Us?
