🧩 About the school:
We're working with a specialist provision in Bury that supports primary and secondary-aged students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a brand-new site opening, where staff will play a key role in shaping a safe, structured, and therapeutic learning environment from the ground up.
This setting offers a vital alternative to mainstream education-designed for learners who require consistency, emotional support, and positive relationships to succeed. No two days are the same, and while the students may present challenges, they are full of potential, individuality, and resilience.
We're looking for a confident, compassionate, and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant who can remain calm under pressure, work collaboratively with a skilled team, and provide targeted, emotionally informed support to students both in and out of the classroom.
You'll be part of a dedicated team, passionate about transforming outcomes for vulnerable young people. From day one, you'll be welcomed into a purpose-driven and supportive environment, where your empathy, consistency, and commitment will be truly valued-and where your impact will help shape the future of the new site.
What We're Looking For:
Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a similar SEMH/PRU setting
🏫 Previous experience working in a UK school setting
Up-to-date Safeguarding training, completed within the last 12 months
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting young people
To be eligible you must:

Provide two professional child related references
This is a full-time position starting in September 2025 (or sooner for the right candidate).
