Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled LGV day driver and HGV Tramper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. This role requires a commitment to excellence in driving and customer service, making it ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment.
£25 nights out per day, ( Tramping role only )
Hours 6am-4pm Monday to Friday for day role
Tramping role will be similar working hours with nights out
Duties
* Operate LGV/HGV vehicles safely and efficiently over long distances.
* Ensure the secure loading and unloading of goods, particularly on flatbed vehicles.
* Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents encountered during transit.
* Follow all traffic laws and regulations while on the road to ensure safety for yourself and others.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
* Assist with minor vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Skills
* Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with LGV/HGV qualifications.
* Strong understanding of delivery driver responsibilities and logistics operations.
* Ability to drive flatbed vehicles safely and efficiently.
* Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines consistently.
* Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving, particularly in high-pressure situations.
* Attention to detail, especially regarding vehicle checks and documentation.
