Job Description

Line Setter Line Setter Overall Purpose To ensure the effective operation and coordination of machinery under their control. This includes maintaining product quality in line with required standards, achieving production targets, and ensuring all equipment is kept in a safe working condition and be flexible with shift work and overtime when necessary. Line Setter Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities * Adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies and hygiene protocols. * Complete forklift and guarding checks as required. * Report any non-compliance to the Productivity/Quality Manager and Conduct risk assessments and mitigate any actual or potential hazards. * Completion of risk assessments, forklift audits, and guarding audits, compliance with PPE standards, Understanding of OH&S and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Follow all work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). * Carry out tooling removal, audits, and machine cleans. * Operate forklifts to support production as needed. * Identify and troubleshoot downtime issues to maximise output and minimise waste and Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of the production line. * Keep accurate production records and ensure smooth handovers between shifts. Line Setter Skills Required: * Knowledge of can-manufacturing processes. * Monitor and maintain product quality, ensuring all quality control checks are completed. * Quarantine non-conforming products and report issues to the Productivity and Quality Managers. * Report any maintenance issues and equipment breakdowns. * Carry out predictive maintenance tasks such as belt changes, lubrication, and component replacements. * Eliminate temporary fixes by ensuring proper maintenance protocols are followed. * Ensure that production meets environmental standards, including proper disposal of hazardous waste and spill management. Line Setter Qualifications Mandatory: * Experience operating and setting high-speed machinery * Strong written and verbal English communication skills * Willingness to work on rotating shifts Desirable: * Trade qualification in Engineering, Electrical, or Automotive fields * Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting ability * Experience in the metal or allied manufacturing industries * Knowledge of OH&S and Environmental policies * First Aid certification * Forklift licence Line Setter Benefits * Salary: £30k (DOE) * Hours of work: Mon to Thurs: 6AM - 2PM / 2PM - 1-PM and Fri: 6AM -11AM / 11AM - 4PM * Pension * 25 days holidays plus BH * Free parking * Training & Development Unfortunately, due to time restrictions we cannot respond to every applicant, in the event that we haven’t contacted you within 48 hours please take it you have not been successful for this particular role, but your details will be kept on file and considered for all future vacancies.
