Litigation Solicitor (Real Estate Disputes) – 2+ PQE
A long-standing, well-regarded national law firm is seeking a talented and motivated Litigation Solicitor (2+ years' PQE) to join their high-performing Real Estate Disputes team on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, with strong potential for the role to become permanent. This role will be based in Southampton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded litigator with a passion for property-related disputes to join a highly respected practice that combines complex, high-value work with a collaborative and collegiate culture.
The Role This team is headed up by a Partner who is dual-qualified as a solicitor advocate and is widely recognised in the legal directories for her proactive, diligent and client-focused approach. Her background includes over a decade with a top-tier international litigation firm, where she acted on high-profile real estate disputes across the High Court, County Court, and Lands Tribunal.
You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of contentious property matters, including:
Development disputes
Service charge and dilapidations claims
Lease renewals and break clauses
Rent review matters
Restrictive covenant issues
Landlord and tenant disputes
Professional negligence claims involving real estate assets
Compulsory purchase compensation disputes tied to major infrastructure projects
Many of these matters are handled end-to-end, with early strategic involvement aimed at dispute resolution through pre-action negotiation or mediation. While trial preparation is part of the role, there is a strong emphasis on avoiding litigation where possible, ensuring pragmatic and cost-effective outcomes for clients.
The Ideal Candidate We’re looking for a solicitor with:
At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in litigation, ideally with exposure to property-related disputes.
Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
A client-centric, solutions-oriented mindset.
Experience with mediation or other forms of ADR is desirable.
The confidence to work both independently and as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.
What’s on Offer
High-quality, varied caseload with exposure to complex commercial property disputes.
Support and mentoring from a highly experienced and approachable Partner ranked in Chambers and Legal 500, as well as a wider team.
A collaborative and nationally connected team, operating across corporate, commercial and real estate disciplines.
