Job Description

My client is seeking a Litigation Solicitor to join their growing law firm in Bromley, Greater London. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with solid general civil and commercial litigation experience who is looking to progress their career within a collaborative and client-focused team. While employment litigation experience is desirable, it is not essential, and training and development will be provided where appropriate. Key Responsibilities: • Managing a diverse caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters, including dispute resolution, contractual claims, debt recovery, and commercial landlord and tenant issues. • Providing clients with clear, practical, and commercially aware legal advice throughout the lifecycle of their cases. • Drafting a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, particulars of claim, defence statements, settlement agreements, and court bundles. • Preparing cases for court hearings, mediations, and other alternative dispute resolution processes, and where appropriate, representing clients at these forums. • Liaising regularly with clients to provide progress updates, manage expectations, and develop strong professional relationships. • Collaborating with other solicitors, fee earners, barristers, and external advisors to ensure effective case management and best outcomes for clients. • Conducting thorough legal research to support case strategies and inform client advice. • Ensuring all casework is compliant with procedural rules, timeframes, and firm standards, while maintaining meticulous file management and documentation. • Supporting business development initiatives by contributing to client pitches, proposals, and marketing activities as required. Essential Criteria: • Qualified solicitor with demonstrable experience in general civil and commercial litigation, ideally with 2-5 years post-qualification experience. • Some experience or interest in employment litigation is advantageous but not essential. • Proven ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently and independently, whilst maintaining high standards of client care. • Strong drafting and advocacy skills with a clear, persuasive communication style, both written and verbal. • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem solving and dispute resolution. • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and upholding professional ethics and standards. • Proficiency with legal IT systems, including case management software and Microsoft Office. • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also using your own initiative.
