Job Description
Loading Shovel Driver
We’re looking for a hands-on and reliable Loading Shovel Driver to help keep our site clean, safe, and running smoothly.
What You’ll Do:
* Follow health & safety rules at all times
* Check and tidy waste skips and stockpiles
* Inspect incoming waste for quality and remove any visible contamination
* Report and log any site issues, defects, or environmental concerns
* Operate and check machinery (e.g. Loading Shovel)
* Keep the yard, weighbridge, drains, and site areas clean and safe
* Make sure drivers and visitors follow safety and PPE rules
* Complete basic checks and paperwork
* Support the team with other general site duties
What We’re Looking For:
* Someone who’s hands-on, reliable, and works well in a team
* Good attention to detail and able to follow safety guidelines
* Experience using site machinery is helpful, but not essential
* Good understanding of health & safety and environmental rules
* Knowledge of EA site permit conditions is helpful
* Great communication skills (verbal and written)
* Strong attention to detail
* Comfortable using basic IT systems
* COCT Level 3 or 4 qualification (preferred)
* Must have a valid Loading Shovel Driver Licence
* Sweeper/mobile plant licences are a bonus – training can be provided
