Job Title: Loading Shovel Operator
Location: Dunmurry, Northern Ireland
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday: 6:00am - 5:00pm
Alternate Saturdays: 7:00am - 12:00pm
Evening Shift : 5:00pm - 5:00am
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Loading Shovel Operator to support daily operations at our Glenside site. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy plant machinery, particularly a loading shovel, to ensure the smooth and safe movement of materials across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily pre-start checks on the loading shovel and other plant equipment; report and document any defects.
Operate the loading shovel to support material processing operations.
Feed materials into process machinery such as shredders or screeners.
Refuel and carry out general maintenance and cleaning of machinery.
Move and maintain material stockpiles.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Comply with all company health & safety procedures and site rules.
Carry out other duties as required by management.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy plant machinery
Strong commitment to health and safety compliance
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence and access to transport (may be required to travel between sites)Desirable Criteria:
Valid Loading Shovel Licence
Previous experience working in the waste or recycling industry
Familiarity with processing equipment such as screeners or shredders
