My client is seeking a dedicated Locum Learning Disabilities Social Worker to join their team in Ilford. About the Role
As a key member of the Learning Disabilities team, you will provide high-quality social work services that uphold the rights, independence, and well-being of adults with learning disabilities. You'll work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, and partner agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Care Planning
Carry out comprehensive assessments in line with statutory duties.
Develop and deliver personalised, strengths-based care plans that promote independence, choice, and quality of life.
Safeguarding
Identify, investigate, and manage safeguarding concerns.
Ensure full compliance with local and national safeguarding policies and procedures.
Case Management
Manage a varied and complex caseload while meeting timescales and performance requirements.
Maintain accurate, timely, and professional case records.
Multi-Agency Working
Engage effectively with health colleagues, housing, education, and voluntary sector partners.
Ensure integrated and coordinated support for service users.
Advocacy
Champion the rights, wishes, and voice of individuals with learning disabilities.
Promote active participation in all decisions relating to care and support.
Legal Compliance
Apply key legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding frameworks.
Professional Development
Participate in supervision, training, and ongoing CPD to maintain high professional standards.
Attend office on duty days and complete required home/community visits.
About You
Qualified Social Worker with SWE registration.
Experience working with adults with learning disabilities (local authority experience desirable).
Strong assessment, communication, and multi-agency working skills.
Confident in applying relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.
Able to work autonomously while contributing positively to team culture.
