Logistics Coordinator

Location: Aberdeen
Salary: Up to £35,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time

Our client is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join their operations team in Aberdeen. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in freight forwarding, logistics or customs who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment coordinating shipments across air, sea and road freight.

The successful candidate will play a key role in arranging the movement of goods, preparing customs and shipping documentation, and ensuring all shipments are managed in line with customer requirements and HMRC regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the transportation of goods across air, sea and road freight.
Arrange shipments from collection through to final delivery.
Prepare import and export shipping documentation, including commercial invoices and packing lists.
Ensure customs documentation is completed accurately and compliantly.
Obtain and process import and export entries to satisfy audit requirements.
Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers and customers to ensure the smooth movement of shipments.
Maintain client HMRC records where required.
Ensure all shipments comply with current HMRC regulations, Incoterms and customs commodity codes.
Monitor shipments and proactively resolve any issues to minimise delays.
Maintain accurate shipment records and operational documentation.
Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
Deliver a high level of customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years' experience within freight forwarding, logistics, customs or a similar role.
Experience coordinating air, sea and road freight shipments.
Strong customs knowledge and understanding of UK import and export procedures.
Good understanding of HMRC regulations, Incoterms and customs commodity codes.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
