Job Description

Logitics Lead / Senior Logistics Manager – Major Infrastructure (Nuclear) Location: Orwell, Ipswich Salary: £80,000 – £100,000 per annum (DOE) Type: Permanent (but freelance also considered) We are recruiting for a Senior Logistics Manager to support logistics operations on a major nuclear infrastructure programme in the Ipswich area. This is a permanent role based out of an established project office, working closely with site and delivery teams to manage and coordinate logistics across multiple workstreams in a highly regulated environment. The is a senior role, ideal for an experienced logistics professional who has delivered complex construction or infrastructure projects and is comfortable operating in a safety‑critical, high‑compliance setting. Key Responsibilities * Manage day‑to‑day and strategic logistics operations supporting a major nuclear construction programme * Coordinate site logistics, access, materials flow, laydown areas and sequencing * Oversee logistics teams, supervisors and coordinators across site and support functions * Work closely with construction, HSE, planning and delivery teams * Implement and maintain logistics plans, processes and controls * Ensure full compliance with health, safety, security and site procedures * Identify and mitigate logistics risks and constraints * Drive continuous improvement in logistics efficiency and performance * Provide clear reporting on logistics activity, resourcing and issues About You * Strong experience in logistics management within major construction or infrastructure projects * Comfortable working in regulated or safety‑critical environments (nuclear, rail, utilities, defence, major civils, etc.) * Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities * Confident leading logistics teams and interfacing with senior project staff * Organised, proactive, and solution‑focused Essential Experience * Senior logistics role on complex construction or infrastructure projects * Strong understanding of construction logistics, materials management and access planning * Excellent health & safety awareness * Full UK driving licence What’s On Offer * £80,000 – £100,000 salary, dependent on experience * Attractive benefits package including £2,500 p.m lodge allowance (gross) * Car Allowance (£6,000) * Permanent role on a nationally significant infrastructure project * Long‑term work with a strong, established delivery organisation * Clear scope, responsibility and visibility within the project * Required in the office 3-4 days per week initially with flexibility after this.
