About the Role
Our client, a respected construction, demolition, and earthworks contractor, is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and coordinate all logistics operations across multiple active projects.
This role is offered on a contract basis and will involve managing the movement of materials, plant, and waste to ensure projects run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing logistics plans, coordinating deliveries, managing suppliers, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, organise, and manage logistics operations across demolition, earthworks, and construction projects.
*
Coordinate the delivery, storage, and distribution of materials, plant, and waste.
*
Develop site-specific logistics plans in collaboration with project and site managers.
*
Liaise with suppliers, transport companies, and subcontractors to ensure timely deliveries.
*
Monitor vehicle movements, access routes, and site traffic management plans.
*
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and legal regulations.
*
Maintain accurate delivery records, permits, and compliance documentation.
*
Oversee waste removal, recycling processes, and material tracking.
*
Support the procurement team with supplier management and delivery scheduling.
*
Conduct regular site visits to assess logistics performance and identify improvements.
*
Coordinate with project management teams to minimise disruption and maximise site efficiency.
Key Skills
*
Strong organisational and planning skills with attention to detail.
*
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
*
Good understanding of logistics, transport, and supply chain management within the construction sector.
*
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
*
Solid knowledge of HSE and CDM regulations relating to construction logistics.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and logistics management software.
*
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work well under pressure.
Experience & Qualifications
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics or site coordination within construction, demolition, or civil engineering.
*
Demonstrated success in managing logistics on large or complex sites.
*
Valid CSCS card required.
*
SMSTS or SSSTS certification preferred.
*
CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence in Transport Management) advantageous but not essential.
*
Full UK driving licence required.
Contract Details
*
Contract role – long-term project opportunity (initial 6–12 months).
*
Day rate or fixed-term contract (depending on experience).
*
Based across multiple project sites.
