The Logistics Manager leads the end-to-end warehouse operation, overseeing the flow of finished goods from production, storage, and outbound distribution to customers, as well as the inbound receipt of imported products and movements of packaging onto the factory lines. This role is accountable for delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective warehousing operations, while developing the team and continuously improving processes to meet service and performance targets.
Key responsibilities and activities include :
• Lead and manage all warehousing activities including inbound product handling, finished goods put away, storage, loading and outbound dispatch.
• Ensure seamless handover from production lines to warehousing, minimising disruption and dwell time.
• Maintain high standards of warehouse safety, compliance, and housekeeping (5S).
• Drive productivity improvements across warehouse operations through standardisation, visual management, and KPI control.
• Manage warehouse planning, resource allocation, and shift structures to meet production and delivery schedules.
• Lead, develop, and coach a team of supervisors, team leaders and warehouse operatives.
• Manage cost performance, including labour, storage, and equipment utilisation.
• Lead or support continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, cost-to-serve, and customer delivery performance.
• Collaborate with transport planning to ensure timely and cost-effective vehicle loading and dispatch.
• Monitor and report warehouse KPIs including inventory accuracy, order dispatch OTIF, and operational cost per pallet/order.
• Ensure accurate and timely use of WMS/ERP systems and support digital enablement of the operation.
• Contribute to warehousing strategy development and capacity planning
Skills & Experience – Essential
• Proven experience leading warehouse operations
• Strong team leadership and people development capability
• Working knowledge of warehouse systems (e.g., WMS, SAP, ERP)
• Experience in lean methodologies, 5S, or operational excellence programmes
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Skills & Experience – Desirable
• Experience with materials handling automation
• Familiarity with manufacturing or construction product distribution
• Previous accountability for budget management or cost efficiency projects
