LSA / Behavioural Mentor – KS3 SEN Support
Location: Colchester
Salary: £85 - £130 per day
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Full-time
Are you passionate about supporting young people with behavioural and emotional needs? We are seeking a committed LSA / Behavioural Mentor to work with KS3 students at a dynamic and supportive SEN school in Colchester. This full-time role starts immediately and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of secondary-aged pupils who face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
This is an ideal role for someone who can build strong, positive relationships with young people and help them re-engage with learning through structure, patience, and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and group support for KS3 pupils with behavioural needs, including SEMH, ADHD, and Autism
Help manage behaviour positively by using de-escalation techniques and emotional coaching
Support academic learning by assisting in the classroom and adapting tasks where necessary
Implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and work closely with SENCOs, therapists, and other staff
Encourage self-confidence, resilience, and positive decision-making in pupils
