M&E Estimator – Temporary Site Services

* Based in Slough
We are currently searching for an experienced M&E Estimator to join on the of the UK’s leading specialists in Demolition, Cut & Carve, Civil Engineering and RC Frames. This business boasts over 60 years of first class project delivery and have gone from strength to strength over the last few years.
This is a new role within the business and has been created due to internal promotions. There is scope for continuous progression in the business so we are looking for someone who is highly driven and passionate about their work.
The role:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for temporary power, water, lighting, pumps and plant during construction phases.
* Assess project drawings and sequencing (cut & carve, civils, groundworks, RC frames) to determine TSS requirements.
* Size and specify generators, distribution boards, cabling and welfare power solutions.
* Develop temporary site services layouts, including cable routes, lighting plans and generator positioning.
* Review and compare supplier/subcontractor quotations for plant hire, fuel systems and temporary M&E equipment.
* Work closely with pre-construction, planners and site teams to align TSS with programme and site logistics.
* Identify risks and constraints such as access, phasing, load spikes, environmental limits and safety requirements.
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., BS 7671, CDM) and safe installation practices.
* Produce tender summaries, BoQs, clarifications, and cost breakdowns for internal and client review.
* Support mobilisation by advising on initial site setup, load monitoring and temporary service adjustments.
Experience Required:
* Proven experience estimating or delivering temporary site services (temporary power, water, lighting, generators) within construction or M&E environments.
* Strong understanding of groundworks, civil engineering, RC frames and how site sequencing impacts temporary services.
* Ability to read and interpret construction, civils and M&E drawings, including load calculations for generator and distribution sizing.
* Experience working with plant hire suppliers, generator providers and temporary works subcontractors, including obtaining and comparing quotes.
* Familiarity with BS 7671, CDM regulations, and safe setup of temporary electrical installations on live construction sites.
