Job Description
Machine Operative
We are currently seeking experienced and dependable Machine Operatives to join a well-established manufacturing facility in Tankersley. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous experience as a Machine Operative, Machine Operator, Manufacturing Operative, Production Machine Operative, Factory Operative, or Production Operator.
As a Machine Operative, you will play a key role within the manufacturing team, operating production machinery, monitoring production lines, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and have experience operating machinery within a factory or production setting.
The Role
As a Machine Operative, your responsibilities will include:

Operating manufacturing machinery and production line equipment safely and efficiently.
*
Machine setting, machine operation, and assisting with machine changeovers.
*
Monitoring machine performance and reporting faults or breakdowns.
*
Operating production lines and electric pressers while working towards daily production KPIs.
*
Carrying out quality inspections to ensure products meet company standards.
*
Completing production paperwork and recording quality checks.
*
Packing finished products and preparing goods for dispatch where required.
*
Maintaining a clean and organised work area in line with 5S and housekeeping standards.
*
Working closely with production, warehouse, and engineering teams.
*
Following all health & safety policies and manufacturing procedures.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal Machine Operative will have:
*
Previous experience as a Machine Operative, Machine Operator, Production Operative, Manufacturing Operative, or Factory Operative.
*
Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
*
Confidence operating production machinery and manufacturing equipment.
*
Strong understanding of health & safety within a factory environment.
*
Experience working towards production targets and KPIs.
*
Multi-skilled experience across warehouse and production operations.
*
Basic computer skills (full training will be provided).
*
A Counterbalance FLT licence is desirable (refresher training available for lapsed licences).
*
A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and progress.
Hours & Benefits
*
Monday – Thursday: 07:00 – 15:00
*
Friday: 07:00 – 13:00
*
40-hour working week, breaks paid.
*
Overtime available:
*
Saturday – Paid at x1.5
*
Sunday – Paid at x2
*
Immediate starts available.
*
