We're Hiring: Slicer Machinist – Day & Night Shifts Available

Key Responsibilities:
As a Slicer Machinist, you will be responsible for loading and unloading the slicer and impinger with meat logs, assembling line guides, grippers, shear bars, and downholders during line setup and changeovers, and operating the film lifter for base film changes. You'll ensure the correct program is in place on the slicer and complete the machine start-up sheet. Additionally, you will replenish supplies of knife pots, spray bottles, PPE, and other materials as needed, while monitoring the condition of blades, grippers, belts, and rollers, escalating any concerns. You’ll also be tasked with monitoring the feedstock conditioning (temperature, quality) to ensure the product meets QAS standards, and you’ll take empty dolavs/racks to the washroom. Other key duties include managing rework labeling, ensuring lightweights and overweights do not exceed 5%, and making sure that all food safety policies are adhered to at all times.
What We're Looking For:
We need individuals who are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage paperwork (checking yields, wastage). You should be comfortable working in a chilled environment and handling raw meats, including chicken, pork, lamb, and beef. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are key; beginners or those with experience in food manufacturing are welcome to apply. You’ll need to be able to lift up to 15kg when required.
