Job Description
We are recruiting for a Machine Operator to join a well established family run packaging manufacturer based in Desborough. This is temporary position that after 12 weeks has the potential to go permanent for successful candidates.
Shift Pattern: Continental – 6-6, 4 on 4 off (Days and Nights) - Averages at 42 hours per week
Pay: £12.50 per hour, with potential to earn up to £13.50 per hour with attendance bonus. Overtime paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate.
A dynamic and rewarding role awaits as a Machine Operator. This position is integral to maintaining production standards and ensuring the smooth operation of conversion machinery. Your main responsibilities will involve:
Maintain the smooth running of conversion machinery.
Complete mandatory audit sheets every 30 minutes.
Operate machines safely and efficiently to produce high-quality goods with minimal downtime.
Pack products according to specifications and label them accurately.
Promptly report any issues to the Team Leader or Senior Operator and request assistance if necessary.
Ensure products are labelled, packed, and palletised correctly, safely, and neatly for transportation.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines and undertake any reasonable tasks within trained capabilities.
Skills and Experience Required:
Previous experience as Machine Operator or similar within a manufacturing environment.
Any knowledge of packaging, plastics or operating conversion or extrusion machines would be advantageous
A pleasant and outgoing nature with a mature and professional outlook.
Ability to approach problems methodically and constructively.
Comfortable working at heights and relatively fit.
Preferably experienced in night shifts.

Paid breaks: x2 15-minute breaks and x1 30-minute break.
