Job Description
My well-established Engineering client based in Reading is looking to recruit a Machine Operator on a temporary basis. Candidates will ideally have previous engineering / manufacturing experience and be familiar with engineering practices, machine health & safety and equipment.
The role is starting immediately after successful interview so please only apply if you are available to start immediately or within a couple of days from an offer.
Responsibilities:
* Operate engineering machinery to produce metal parts/products.
* Be responsible for the quality of parts produced and ensure they conform to company standards and product drawings.
* Run machines to achieve cycle times as recorded on the route cards.
* Assist Setter/Team Leader in improving changeover times, machine running efficiencies and tooling set ups.
* Transportation of goods within the factory, assisting with stock checks and general housekeeping within the manufacturing site.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience operating machines within an engineering or manufacturing environment (CNC or manual machinery).
* Have general engineering knowledge and experience of Machine operating and/or setting.
* Experience in quality checking of parts using micrometres / vernier calipers.
* Happy working a double dayshift that rotates weekly.
This role is offered on a permanent double day shift of 06.00 – 14.00 / 14.00 – 22.00 which rotates weekly. A competitive hourly rate of £13.44 per hour is on offer for the successful candidate.
