Machine Setter Operator

Location: Telford
 Salary: Starting salary of £35,115 per annum + Excellent Benefits
 Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – 12-hour rotating shifts (Days & Nights, including weekends)

This role would be ideal for someone who has previously worked as a Machine Setter, Line Setter, Technical Operator, Machine Operator, Production Operator (Technical Level), Process Operator, Packaging Machine Operator, Line Technician, or Setter/Operator within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.

Please note: This is a 2-stage interview process, with the first stage consisting of a numeracy and literacy assessment on site in Telford, Shropshire.

The role:

Operating and setting state‑of‑the‑art, fully automated machinery—cutting-edge technology that is unmatched in the industry.
Taking responsibility for your production line: supporting operators, training others, and driving consistent performance.
Managing machine set‑ups, start‑ups, changeovers, and adjustments to ensure smooth, efficient output.
Identifying potential faults early, carrying out basic troubleshooting, and working with engineers to minimise downtime.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to process optimisation.
Ensuring full Food Safety, Quality, and Health & Safety compliance at all times.

What We’re Looking for:

An experienced Machine Setter, Machine Operator, Line Setter, Technical Operator, Production Operator (Technical), Process Operator, or similar.
Someone who enjoys working with machinery, can solve problems quickly, and thrives under pressure.
A team player with enthusiasm, flexibility, and a desire to learn new technology.
Someone keen to improve processes, embrace lean manufacturing, and support continuous improvement.
An effective communicator who can follow standards, give direction, and challenge when necessary.
Experience in FMCG, food, or processing environments is an advantage — but not essential.

If you’ve worked as a as a Machine Setter, Line Setter, Technical Operator, Machine Operator, Production Operator (Technical Level), Process Operator, Packaging Machine Operator, Line Technician, or Setter/Operator within an FMCG or manufacturing environment. If you’re confident setting up machinery, running production lines, troubleshooting issues, and keeping equipment performing at its best, you’ll be a great fit for this position.
