Job Title: Machine Setter Supervisor
Location: Gillingham, Kent
Salary: £38,000 – £40,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 4:30pm; Friday, 7:00am – 11:00am
Contract: Permanent
We are seeking a hands-on and mechanically minded Supervisor to lead the Auto Rivet and Band Cutting department. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, family-run manufacturing environment where your leadership and technical skills will make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the daily operations of the department, ensuring smooth workflow and productivity.
* Diagnose and resolve machine faults to support efficient production.
* Carry out tool changes and liaise with the Factory Manager on production schedules.
* Train and develop team members to ensure flexibility and coverage.
* Coordinate with other departments to maintain a steady flow of work.
* Participate in daily Gemba walks and collaborate with toolroom and maintenance teams for machine upkeep.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Strong mechanical knowledge is essential.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
* Understanding of machine maintenance and ownership.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
