Job Description
Supreme Recruitment are pleased to be recruiting for our growing client, a well established foundry with UK and US sites.
Due to expansion, a vacancy has become available for a Machine Shop Supervisor.
Hours: 6am - 2pm only
Pay: £15.22 (£38,000 including shift allowance) plus overtime. Negotiable for the right candidate
Duties and Responsibilites
Planning & organising orders and labour for the department;
Ensuring production time is fully utilized & productivity maximized
Ensure timesheets are completed & booked
Ensuring parts are produced in compliance with quality procedures
Ensuring that standard working practices are followed on all operations in terms of Workflow, WIP quantities, process/cycle times and procedures.
Continually monitors existing production techniques/methods & where identified implements improvements or alterations via the correct procedures.
Monitors, analyses & orders department consumable stock levels
Liaision with various stakeholders across quality, production and maintenance
Develop one's own expertise in the operations & procedures of setting up & operating all the machines & disseminates such knowledge & skills to appropriate people within the company.
Ensures that 5S is totally integrated into department.
Ensures that Environmental Protection Act Policies are adhered to in accordance with company objectives.
Maintains departmental disciplinary standards in accordance with established company procedures
What are we looking for?
- Experienced working in a similar supervisory role, or have senior machining experience in a team leading position
- Experience working in a unionised environment
- Apprentice qualified ideally in manufacturing or engineering related field
- Leadership qualifications are preferable
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, able to fit deadlines
- Self motivated
- Willing to work shifts and overtime/ flexibility
