Location: Wolverhampton
Join a trusted name in precision engineering and manufacturing for over a century. We’re seeking a confident and experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to lead and coordinate our production team of 35 skilled professionals.
About the Role
As the Machine Shop Supervisor, you will take charge of the day-to-day leadership and organisation of our busy machine shop. This is a people-first, hands-off management role – perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing or production environments and has a track record of leading large teams to meet targets efficiently.
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving production output while maintaining quality, safety, and team performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate a team of up to 35 machine shop employees across multiple shifts.
Lead daily briefings, schedule workloads, and ensure production targets are met.
Monitor work flow, resolve operational issues, and liaise with planning and engineering departments.
Support team development, performance management, and training initiatives.
Maintain compliance with H&S standards and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment (engineering sector preferred).
Demonstrable man-management or supervisory experience overseeing medium to large teams.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to motivate and influence teams to deliver on KPIs and deadlines.
Familiarity with production reporting and lean principles is desirable but not essential.
No hands-on machining experience required.
